The tomato cuttings are all taking root nicely. Hopefully they’ll be as successful in the fall as they have been this spring/summer season.
I haven’t even harvested all of the tomatoes and I’ve filled up a good chunk of the freezer. I’ve been saving the paste tomatoes for a one stop pasta sauce cooking session. I remember reading that it takes about 20lbs of tomatoes to make 6 quarts of sauce.
I’ve even been picking a lot of the tomatoes still green and keeping them contained for them to ripen. The squirrels and possums have been ravaging the tomatoes. At least once a week I find a half gnawed tomato, mocking me, laying on the patio.
